Chocolate sauce - So D'lish: New Zealand's food blog website

The Movenpick ice cream competition attracted lots of great ways that you like to eat your ice cream. Some of the ideas that leapt out at me were chocolate self saucing pudding, toffeed bananas and simple chocolate sauce.
Kim Reilly very kindly shared her mum's chocolate sauce recipe with us. It has been trialled in the So D'lish kitchen (with great success). It was really quick to make and it will keep in the fridge for a few days if (by chance) you don't finish it in one sitting. Thank you Kim!

Here is Kim's mum's chocolate sauce recipe.

Kim's mum's chocolate sauce

Ingredients:
6 T sugar
1 T cocoa
5 T water
1 t butter
drop of vanilla essence
drop of golden syrup (optional)

Directions:
  1. Put all above ingredients into a pot and bring to the boil
  2. Simmer gently without overcooking
  3. Cool slightly and serve over icecream (the sauce will thicken slightly when cooled).

Have your say
