Smooth, chocolaty and creamy. There is nothing better than a real chocolate sauce. A few months ago, I wrote a recipe for a simple chocolate sauce, which is nice but is not a real chocolate sauce, made with real chocolate.
So, if you have chocolate in the house and a bit of cream, then this is the recipe that you want. It is completely decadent but completely worth it.
Real chocolate sauce
Ingredients
150ml cream
80g chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp butter
2 tbsp of your favourite liqueur
Directions
- Heat the cream, butter and sugar in pot over a medium heat until it just starts to boil
- Take the cream off the heat and add the chocolate. Do not stir and let the heat of the cream melt the chocolate (about 5-10 minutes)
- Stir well to combine and add the liqueur, if required.
Serve warm.
Tips
Store left over sauce in the fridge. Reheat gently to remelt, when required.
