Andrea Wong

I love my food. I'm a foodie but not a professional cook or chef. I am in fact a graphic and web designer.

I love to bake and try new recipes. I love to eat out and love to know where to go for a good feed.

I have a passion for supporting good, local businesses and locally made products. New Zealand has become a real melting pot of cultures and it's great to see people producing and selling food from their home land, here in NZ.

While my cooking style is largely kiwi, I have strong chinese and italian influences in what I make. I'll be sharing with you my adventures in experimenting with new flavours and ingredients. Be sure to let me know if you have any hints for me -- So D'lish is all about sharing.

The birth of So D'lish

So D'lish was born out of a desire to talk and discover more about food. I love to share things that I find and enjoy hearing about other people's foodie discoveries, so starting a website about food was a logical step. So D'lish is owned and operated by Andrea Wong Design.

What is the So D'lish site going to achieve?

So D'lish is going to be more than just another blog about the food that I cook and eat. So D'lish is going to champion New Zealand made food, it is going to talk about the hot topics in food, it is going to share its thoughts on cafes, restaurants, products and food, and it will have recipes too.

I will post up here, anything food-related. The good, the bad, the average. An honest opinion from a regular person... who loves food.

I will share my cooking triumphs -- and disasters -- and let you know about the little foodie gems that pass by my way.

So D'lish is your space too, so please feel free to post any comments, recommendations and thoughts that you may have.

Ok, who feels like a wee snack?

Have your say

    Hiya Andrea

Don't know if you're into breadmaking (and I don't know if I should be alerting you to someone else's site), but I found this technique for kneading very useful indeed. Have a look at: http://www.sourdoughhome.com/stretchandfold.html

I had a go at doing sourdough, but it's a bit much of a commitment for a beginner like me. However, the basic bread recipe on the back of the flour packet worked wonderfully using the stretch and fold technique - minimal effort too!

    Cheers
